Wait.. What's a 'whodunit' ?
A Whodunit(Who-Done-It) is a story or play about a murder in which the identity of the murderer is not revealed until the end.
"Wow now that's my genre" - i guess most of you would have said this now. Well,who doesn't love a murder mystery unveiling itself slowly. So here it is a list of 10 suspenseful murder plot mysteries across multiple languages. I'll just keep the synopsis to one-liners without any spoilers.
Note : I'm not including the serial killer movies here in this list as those would be part of separate list.
1. Knives Out(2019):
A Wealthy novelist is dead in his mansion. Is it a suicide or Murder? Everyone in the mansion has a motive. But would a motive alone do ?

Based on the infamous Aarushi Talwar murder case in Delhi. A Teen girl is found dead. The servant and the parents are suspected.The movie portrays the story in different angles before arriving at the controversial conclusion on who committed the murder.Irffan Khan plays the investigator.

9. Rahasya(2015) (Hindi):
Another movie loosely based on the Talwar case but with more fiction to it and a different plot from Talwar movie.Kay Kay menon plays the role of the CBI officer. The father is suspected of murdering his own daughter , he refuses but all intial circumstances point towards him.

10.Ittefaq(2017)(Hindi):
The Wife of an acclaimed writer is found dead in their hotel room. He escapes from the cpos who suspect him of the murder and seeks help from a woman to hide himself. After a set of events, Both have different stories to tell to the police. Edge of the seat thriller.Starring Siddharth Malhotra, Sonakshi and akshayee khanna, Ittefaq is a remake of a 1969 movie of same name.

Another Murder mystery from the duo of Mamooty and director by Ranjith who gave us Paleri manickam. A Journalist who is working on auto biography-Ghost writing for a jail super intendant, meets a prisoner who is jailed for double homicide. He cliams he has been wrongly accused.We come to know the real killer as the story unfolds.

16.Hit(Telugu):
A Police officer in order to find his missing girl friend has to solve another case of a missing teen girl. Are they dead or still alive ? The suspect list widens among th family and friends. A promising start for a debutant and we could expect sequels as a part of the series. The climax however is a little disappointing with the motive not being strong. nevertheless a fantastic crime thriller that keeps us guessing.

17.Karthikeya( Telugu):
The people in Subramaniyapuram believe that a mysterious snake is responsible for the deaths in the temple. Karthikeya a medical student visits the medical camp there and tries to solve the murder mysteries. So was it really a snake or ?One of the underated Mystery thrillers in telugu.
