Let's begin with the best of the lot. John Wick is about a retired assassin who gets back into the mafia world to revenge the men who killed his dog. Wait.. What ? A dog? Yes you heard it right.He goes on a killing spree rampaging the mafia world.. John Wick redefined action cinema in the last decade. Directed by chad stahelski a stunt choreographer, john wick was fresh,intense and bloody stressful. You just cant blink your eyes or you would miss a kill.John wick is a cult classic and has a huge fan following. It gets better and bloodier with each part.

2.The Raid: Redemption(2011) and Raid 2 (2014):
This Indonesian movie would be a huge surprise for Hollywood fans. Never seen before intense martial arts based action sequences that has been realistically choreographed and the making is as good as a Hollywood movie. A small police squad are on a mission to a raid to an apartment where they are trapped by a gangster and hundreds of his men who are determined to kill them all. Loosing the entire squad one man fights back against all odds.Mind-blowing edge of the seat action thriller.The second part is even better with a wider plot.

3. IP Man - Part 1-Part 4(2008-2019):
Hands down the best Martial arts based movie ever made. The movie series is dramatized version based on the real life story of Master Ip one the greatest marital arts warrior in the 1930's-1980's era who taught Bruce lee. Master Ip has to fight different enemies from different martial arts forms(Kungfu masters, Japanese Karate ,Heavy weight English boxers) and and the battles gets tougher as it goes by. A very moving story as well that make you root for IP man every-time. A Cult classic action movie with excellent production values and great plot unlike some crazy Chinese movies.

An Ex-CIA Operative sets on a fierce revenge fueled rescue mission when a 9 year girl he was recruited to protect is kidnapped by dangerous men.He would stop at nothing to save the girl.Denzel Washington is at his best. Edge of the seat thriller in lines with Taken.

5.Sicario(2015) & Sicario:Day of the Soldado(2018):
An FBI Agent is sent to the US-Mexico border to eradicate the troubling and dangerous Mexican drug cartel who have killed her team mates. She along with his brutal team of associates are set on a insurmountable & dangerous mission that would defy rules. Part II is an independent movie with a new plot along the same lines.

6. 13 Hours- The secret soldiers of benghazi(2016):
During a political unrest in Libya after the fall of gadaffi , the CIA Compound is attacked by rebels. A group of 6 Brave men recruited as private security stand guard for 13 hours against an army of invaders, while they wait for the air support. As the tagline goes 'When everything went wrong six men had the courage to do what was right' , the movie is based on true events of once unaccredited soldiers who were among the bravest men in history. One of the underrated movies

8.Lone survivor(2013):
A US Navy Seal Team set on the mission to kill the taliban leader in Afghanistan where they are outnumbered against a large group of Taliban army. Now Marcus(Mark Wahlberg) and his team are left to fight for their lives in one of the most valiant efforts of modern warfare.Another movie based on real life events.

9.The Mechanic(2011):
Arthur(Jason Statham) is an professional assassin who is meticulate with his assignment of cleaning up targets. His mentor harry is murdered and arthur is set to find the killers., he is joined by Harry's son(Ben Foster) who seems deceptive. Tailor made script for Jason's statham and he is terrific. Caution: don't watch the second part.

11.Snowpiercer(2013):

A revolt breaks and people from the back try to march forward to strike balance. An adventurous action thriller from the director of parasite(Bong joon ho)

13. Olympus Has Fallen(2013):
The white house is under a major attack and over run by a army of terrorsists. Mike banning a seceret service agent trapped insde has to find ways to save the president. Gerard Butler is at his brutal best and Morgan Freeman as the president takes the movie up a notch. Another movie 'White house down' had a similar plot released same year but OHF was a better version. Edge of the seat thriller but the sequels weren't that good.

14.Extraction(2020):
The recently realesed (Direct on OTT) Netflix orginal took the world by surprise for its high octane and intense action seqeunces. Son of a drug lord in india has been kidnapped by the rival drug lord in bangladesh and a contract mercenary goes for the recue. A simple plot but the non -stop brutal action and tight screenplay make this a good weekend watch. Shot exlusively in India and bangladesh.

15.The night comes for us(2018):
Another solid Indonesian action thriller starring Iko uwais and Joe Taslim from 'The Raid' series but this time they swap roles. Ito a key member of the drug triad after massacring an entire village (for a lost drug) has to kill a small girl who is the last survivor. He has a change of mind, kills the other men present there he saves her and hides her. Now he has to fight for survival against the dagerous triad that comes after him. Brutally executed fights and a plot with its fair share of twists make this a bloody good watch.
